(Almost) Had Enough

Have you ever experienced a time shift?

Most adults have at one time or another.  It usually happens 15 minutes before the end of the day when the second hand on the clock moves anti-clockwise and every minute takes an eternity to pass.  You know the time was 4:45 pm the last time you looked, but now the clock is reading 4:30 pm.

I call it a time shift – an experience that is more than one step backwards from déjà vu because it’s not an event you are reliving, it’s time spent re-credited to your account and suddenly you have to spend it all over again.

I’m living in one right now!

With Dean and I moving into our caravan on Saturday, time is currently standing still and it feels like an eternity passes before one day finishes and the next one begins.

I have had enough of packing and I’m tired of all the thinking that goes hand in hand with downsizing on a huge scale – “Do we need this?”, “Can we take that?”, “What am I going to do with this?” and “Who might like to look after that?”.

I’ve had enough of living around boxes and I’m feeling down because I’ve been so busy I’ve not had any time to be excited about collecting our mini home.

I have not doubt though, when Saturday morning eventually gets here and we are warmly welcomed by Steve and Mel when we arrive at Comfort Caravans, my spirits will lift and time will resume its normal passing.

  1. You poor woman – I would have hated to see you when you were a child waiting for Christmas and Santa to come – HA! I can relate to being tired of being around boxes. You must find some fun things to do for the next two days to take your mind off things – have a look at that bucket list.

  2. With the shifting sands of time…..and all that. As Saturday gets closer I know that positive anticipation will overcome the doldrums. Where will your caravan be parked?
