Gary’s Garden

I had forgotten how therapeutic gardening can be.

Life can be mundane devoid of flower beds, potted plants and a garden hose.

We gave up our garden when we sold our house and moved into an apartment in 2012.  A scant few precious plants came with us, but countless others were either left behind, sold or given away.

There was simply no room on the balcony, and no room inside either.

For the last five days I’ve woken early and stepped outside to become completely lost amid the plant life.  I’m thrilled that we are house sitting and, among other minor tasks, I have the pleasure of looking after Gary’s Garden.

This has been a fantastic way to begin the new year.  How wonderful it is watering plants, pulling out the odd weed or two and savouring the sweet juicy tomatoes that are ripening faster than we can eat them.

I’ve uploaded more photos on the Photography page.

One day I’ll have another garden, somewhere special to call my own.
