Five Photos, Five Stories – Day Five

Thank you Rosalyn for inviting me to join this wonderful challenge.

Today’s photo was taken January 25, 2015.

The Blue Mountains, Katoomba New South Wales, Australia.

After years of yearning and dreaming, I finally got to see the Blue Mountains in January this year.  Some of the sights we saw during the six days we staying in Katoomba were beyond words.

I’ve never lived in the mountains, only ever lived in the city, but I’m ready for a tree change.  In fact, I believe it’s long overdue.

I need to smell the wind after it caresses past ancient pines and eucalypts, fragrant flowers, and home-grown herbs.

I need to feel the earth below my feet, walk along damp forest pathways, and get lost in dense rainforests.

I need to hear life awaken in the early light of day and listen as it slows with the sun’s last rays.

I need to taste the rain and catch it and keep it safe.

And I need to bask in the glory of an unimpeded night sky.

I want to know the stars by name and point out where other planets lie sprinkled within the grandeur, the natural wonder and raw beauty of the cosmos scattered overhead.

The Five Photos, Five Stories Challenge rules require you to post a photo each day for five consecutive days and attach a story to the photo.  It can be fiction or non-fiction, a poem or simply a short paragraph – it’s entirely up to you.

Then each day, nominate another blogger to carry on this challenge.

Accepting the challenge is entirely up to the person nominated, it is not a command.  Today, I invite Author SB Mazing to join the challenge.

  1. They are beautiful. The coasts of Australia are so lovely. I’ve seen a lot of pictures of Perth. And there’s a forest near there where the trees are giants and a great walkway has been built up in the tops of them. Are you going that far?
