On A Day of Sunshine

We headed for The Basin Walk

On our first (truly) sunny day in a little over three weeks, we decided we needed to go for a walk and selected a gentle stroll along the Basin Walk.  Just a little over 11 kilometres (6.8 miles) return, it follows the edge of St Georges Basin and despite the featured image above, the recent rain had left the track wet and muddy in most places.

We called it quits before the end of the walk and actually trekked along the suburban streets to get back to the car.  For someone who loves bushwalking, this is normally a big no-no, but unfortunately, I’d had enough of slopping around in the cold mud.

Even though the path wasn’t dry, we were still able to appreciate the area and the view of St Georges Basin, and I was more than happy to be taking some photos.

Here’s a few – Enjoy.

  1. The colors in these photos, Clare, are so vivid and drenched in bright hues. I would seriously be called to see every inch of this basin and from every angle available.
It seems you were able to capture the essence of freshness and tranquility. Kinda wishing I could take a couple of lungfuls of that air.
Beautiful work with the camera, Clare. How lucky to have tread the path to freeze these lovely moments.
    Cheers!

    1. Thanx Shelley,

I’ve been reading up on capturing images as opposed to taking photos and starting to hone my eye a little – I hope.

The air was so fresh, if perhaps a little musty to match all the mud. We’re heading over to the other side of the basin tomorrow – hopefully we’ll have clear skies – and I’m hoping to catch the sunset on the water. Fingers crossed.
