The Pastry Chef and the Business Man

– Chapter Two –

 

Because the pastry chef who purchased the little patisserie wanted nothing more than to earn a reputation for his little patisserie as the best patisserie ever purchased by a pastry chef, the pastry chef who purchased the little patisserie quickly went about making the absolutely most magnificent cake there has ever been.

The pastry chef who purchased the little patisserie worked all night, beating and whipping and baking and icing and in the morning the pastry chef who purchased the little patisserie was extremely pleased and proud and ready to sell the absolutely most magnificent cake there has ever been to the very official looking business man.

At 9:00 am sharp, the little door bell jingled as the very official looking business man stepped into the little patisserie purchased by the pastry chef.

“Here is the absolutely most magnificent cake there has ever been,” said the pastry chef who purchased the little patisserie.

“It’s a double-decker, triple, quadruple layered vanilla sponge cake with royal icing and delicate detail carefully crafted for wishing your wife a brilliant birthday.”

“Oh no,” said the very official looking business man with his big, booming voice.  “That won’t do.  My wife loves chocolate cake.

“Make it again, I’ll be back tomorrow.”

And with that, he spun upon his heels and the little door bell jingled as the very official looking business man stepped out of the little patisserie purchased by the pastry chef.
